Pond

I ask my person for more rocks. 
Today she gave us water instead. 
We placed the rocks we have around it to make a pond.
Buddy and I climb up the rocks  with the water below,
It’s a hard climb for a dog with short legs.
We made it.
 Let’s rest Buddy.
Hey it’s Gator Gates!
 Guess he found the water before we did,
Looks like Gates is happy to have water.

Rocks

This is what I got for Christmas. A bunch of rocks.
You may think I was naughty. Who gets a pile of rocks for Christmas?
They are the best present ever!
You can place rocks however you want . 
I’m sitting high on top . I can look down on everything.
See Buddy down below?
We both hide between our rocks.
I love my present. Buddy does too.
The only problem we need more of them.

Sweater Day

Today I gave my person a ball of yarn.
I then gave her a crochet hook. I ask if she’d make me a new sweater.
It worked. I have a new sweater.
Then Buddy showed up dressed in pearls. Pearls didn’t fit him so well. 
I ask if he couldn’t have a sweater made for him. 
I saw the yarn ball it had enough yarn left to make him one.
Buddy has a sweater. We match. 
 Buddy will be warm now when we go out.
 He’s a happy dog.

Peanuts

ACorn went out with his person today. He was given a handful of peanuts to keep him entertained. Do you know how much a squirrel likes peanuts? 
ACorn thinks there is no better food .
As he explored the area he found a whole bucket of peanuts. He climbed up to investigate.
He was so happy he jumped in the bucket . He was in squirrel paradise.
He buried himself in those wonderful peanuts.
He ate until his belly was full and his cheeks were bulging. 
Then home he went knowing where he could go any time for more peanuts.

National Candy Cane Day

ACorn put on his wizard outfit. He hasn’t done his laundry yet it is the only clean thing he has to wear today.


He invited his friends over today for National Candy Cane day.
Someone has to eat all those leftover candy canes. Having National Candy Cane Day 
is perfect for eating them.
Even Buddy the dog gets one.
You have to take a candy cane with you if any are left at the end of the day.
It’s a good thing ACorn wore his wizard outfit. It worked all the candy canes are gone.

National Pfeffernusse Day

 National Pfeffernusse Day was yesterday.
 Pfeffernusse are cookies made with nuts and spices then covered in powdered sugar.
I have never had Pfeffernusse cookies. I decided I would bake some. I dug out the recipe. Got all the supplies 
together and started making them.
I couldn’t believe the cookies had pepper in them.
All the spices and flour are in the bowl.
I mixed the dry ingredients together. It was pretty hard for me to do.
I climbed up to check if I had added the butter and sugar.
I tossed in the egg. Mixed it well.
Looking good! I did fall in the bowl here but I managed to climb out on my own.
Wrapped and ready for the refrigerator. It had to stay in for a couple of hours.
Rolled in balls.
They’re ready for the oven. I didn’t want any my size. I wanted people size cookies. 
Ready for the white snow to be put on them. 
No really it’s only powdered sugar not snow that goes on them.
Oh look at them. They smell so good. I got a lot of them. Will have one with my tea later today.

Socks

In June ACorn told his person his feet get cold in the Winter months. He ask if he could have a pair of warm wool socks knit to keep them warm.

His person pulled out her needles then started working  on knitting some tiny socks for him.
She made him some green socks.
 Then knit him a red pair.  
December has arrived  along with cold days.
ACorn has lost his socks.
Out came the needles again . Another pair of tiny green socks were knit.
ACorn is very pleased with them.
Oh! ACorn really loves his socks.

ACorns Balloon

ACorn wanted a balloon. He ask his person for one. 
He didn’t want one that you had to blow up.  
He said it would drag on the ground.







He said it would drag in the grass.
He didn’t want one with helium in it. He said it would float him away and it did.
 Thankfully he got caught in a tree and was saved. 
His person had to think about a balloon that wouldn’t drag on the ground or be filled
 with helium and float him away.
She thought long and hard then came up with a plan,  She’d knit him a balloon. No floating away no dragging on the ground
and it would last forever.
 ACorn now has his own balloon and it’s red his favorite color for now.

Buddy’s Bath

ACorn keeps a pair of red boots right outside his door.
Good that ACorn’s boots are handy. We had snow in the morning . By afternoon it melted. Next day it rained. Lots of mud everywhere.
 ACorn has to take Buddy out. Buddy he doesn’t have boots. Being a dog he has to go outside to use the bathroom. 
Not only do his feet get muddy his belly does too. He is low to the ground.
ACorn decided Buddy needed a bath to get all that mud off of him. 
They pulled out the washtub. 
The tub was placed next to the wood stove so Buddy wouldn’t get cold. 
ACorn added in some water. Thinking it would be fun for Buddy he added in some soap for a bubble bath. Not to much ACorn!
Maybe just a bit to much soap was added.
Buddy likes the bubbles.
Acorn has an idea. Off he runs to get each of them a bubble wand. 
Now they can blow bubbles as Buddy gets clean.

Buddy is clean.  Bath is over. Water is dumped.
  Getting dried with a warm towel. What could be better?
Laying by a warm stove. Everything is wonderful !

ACorns Christmas Card

ACorn receives his first Christmas card. He and Buddy are excited.
Both of them like the snowman sticker on the back of the envelope. 
They open it carefully to save the snowman.
Along with a card there is a letter with hand drawn art work. . ACorn reads the letter as Buddy looks at the art. The card and letter are from his friend Zori.
Zori lives in Missouri. He is a little skunk like Phew.
ACorn reads the greeting in the card as Buddy peeks over the top.  They feel blessed to have received it. 
They want the card up where it can be seen. They know a perfect spot to hang it.
ACorn pulls a chair over. He climbs up on it. Buddy brings the card.
The chair is to low. ACorn can’t reach high enough to put the card up.
Good thing they own a ladder. 
When your a tiny squirrel a ladder is good to have close at hand.
A perfect spot to see the card while having your afternoon cuppa tea.
