National Fig Newton Day

It’s National Fig Newton Day . 
I had never heard of Fig Newtons. We had to check them out.
 Buddy and I headed down to our person’s kitchen to see if we could find some.
Sure enough a package of Newtons was on the counter.
I had to ask our person to open the package so we could try them.
A table was set up on the counter for us. Buddy and I sat in readiness .
A cookie was placed on a plate and set in the center of the table.
 How are we supposed to eat it? The cookie is kind of big.
Our person was kind she cut it in a size right for us.
Buddy and I decided it tasted fine. We could eat these Fig Newtons again.
When it was time to leave our person sent a cookie with us.
 I had a struggle getting it home . I am small after all.
We did manage to get it back to my place. Both of us will share it later at teatime.
