The Egg

As I went to sit on the garden bench to watch the birds
I found an egg.
It could be a Mourning Doves egg.
Lots of Mourning Doves come each day to eat at the feeders.
The egg had a little hole in it and it leaked onto the bench.
No baby will hatch from this egg.
It was nice to get a close look .
The egg was was in the spot I usually sit.
Making it hard for me to sit in my spot I decided to sit on
the back of the bench. It gets me closer to the birds anyway.
Where are the birds?
A Tufted Titmouse arrived for a seed or two.
A little woodpecker has a bite of suet.
The birds don’t like the sound of the camera clicking.
My human is scaring the birds so I’m leaving.
As I reached the deck I found this Bee.
I looked closely at it. It’s still alive.
My human picked it up and placed it in the grass.
I hope it lived.

ACorn and the Altered Book

I’m looking at the book page to see what my
human is going to do with it.
The page is going to be altered inspired by LoriMarie Jenkins.
The first layer put down is called the underpants.
I think the second layer must be called the slip.
I don’t want to get to close.
I might get stuck to the page as part of the design.
Now a napkin has been placed over the whole page.
Tissue paper over the napkin.
The dress is made from scraps of fabric.
My human has placed the dress and other pieces of fabric on the page.
She said she is just laying them on to see how they look.
The page isn’t finished . My human isn’t happy with it .
She is still working to make it look just right.
Here are a couple of Our Village houses. She did finish these ones.
All the doors and windows have something in them.
I think these pages are a little scary.
Back to watching my human finish the dress page.

Outside on a cloudy day

I finally got out of the house on this gray day.
Climbing up a dry flower stalk I was happy to see the Bee Balm is growing nicely.
Solomon’s Seal is ready to bloom.
I hope the deer don’t find it before it does.
The deer like to eat Solomon right down to the ground.
The white Azalea bush is blooming.
I found a dropped flower .
Trying it on as a hat just didn’t work for me.
Too ruffly .
I climbed up on the old cement goose’s head for a better view.
I looked out over the yard nothing exciting was going on.
As I headed back in the house I spotted this basket of flowers on the deck.
I had to have my picture taken standing by them.
That’s it for today. Off to take a nap.

More 3″ knitted Izzy Characters

What is she knitting now?
The paper say 3″ something.
Lots of shades of brown yarn here.
Maybe she is knitting a squirrel.
Whatever is being knit is coming along just fine.
Stills looks like it could be a squirrel.
Sorry ACorn a fox was being knit.
Looks like you have a few new animal friends.
Where is that ACorn anyway.
No this is not ACorn it’s Phew.
He likes the new friends. A fox a chicken and an owl.
I guess she wasn’t knitting a squirrel.
Wow! Four new ones have been made.
What do you think ACorn?
Do you think she’s going to make more??????

Scampering around

This morning before the rain started I was out and about scampering up trees, over tree roots , and just having fun.
Tree roots.
An old fallen tree.
The woodpeckers favorite tree.
It wasn’t long before a cold breeze started blowing .
Raindrops starting coming down.
I raced across the yard then up on the deck.
I looked back to where I had just been.
Let the wind blow.
Let the rain fall
I guess I’ll go in and take a nap.
I’m glad I was able to scamper about this morning.
An inch of snow is predicted tonight.

ACorn explores outside

We have had so much rain lately.
I put on my boots then went outside on the one day the rain held off.
Everywhere I went it was standing water and mud.

I found violets blooming.
I found lots of violets blooming all over the yard.
A little Bee was enjoying the dandelion.
I call these little flowers snowdrops.
I don’t think that’s the real name .
Looking across the yard full of blooming violets many snowdrops were mixed in.
The lambs ears are growing .
That is one tall crane compared to little me.
Lots of flowers here.
I did have to be careful to not get snagged on all the thorns growing on this bush.
It would be awful if my sweater got hooked and I couldn’t get down.
This is the last and best looking plant growing in the yard.
I didn’t get close just in case it was poisonous to me.
I had fun exploring even with the standing water and mud.
Summer with dry weather will surely arrive sometime.

Stay At Home Knitting

At this time everyone is staying home.
My person has many small balls of leftover lace weight yarn.
She has been using them to knit little people.
She purchased the patterns on Ravelry the designer is Esther Braithwaite.
Here she is knitting a rabbit.
I can’t wait to see it when she is finished.
This is the first little person she knit.
Now the little person has a brother .
Oh my!
Another one .
Everytime I turn around another little person is added to the group.
A little nurse is knit complete with her mask.
A bowl full of little people.
But wait there is one more.
The little rabbit is done.
She still has lots of bits and bobs of yarn left.
I think more little people will be made.

ACorns Easter 2020

HAPPY EASTER everyone!
My human had an egg hunt for me today.
There were so many eggs I couldn’t carry them all.
I also received a big chocolate rabbit.
Maybe I’ll nibble on his ears later.
Little peeps came out to see what was going on.
They are so cute.
The peeps wanted to know why I was carrying colored eggs in my basket.
I thought this was a fine day to wheel out the big chicken I received last Easter.

ACorn makes some easels

Having lots of time on his hands ACorn set about making some easels.
Four easels have been completed.
Happy with the completed easels he heads off to make artwork to display on them.
Birds are going to be the theme for his work today.
Bird stamps are the starting point.
ACorn hopes to clear off his work area by using
up scraps of past artwork pieces.
The first easel displaying it’s piece of art.
He’s pleased with the result.
So pleased that he decides to work on the three other art pieces.
Finished his easels completed his artwork achieved his goal.
ACorn is a happy little squirrel today.
