Hitty’s Story

The Hitty’s gather round to read Hitty Her First Hundred Years by Rachel Field.
They’re very excited to read about the first Hitty and all her adventuress.
The girls gather closer to look at the authors signature in the book.
The beginning of the book shows original Hitty writing her memoirs.
The girls have so much more to learn about ancestor Hitty.
I do believe they will have so much fun sharing the reading aloud of Hitty’s story.

Quilt Work

All the critters gathered at my house this
morning so they could see the quilt.
We were all asked to move to the stairs
as the sisters started working.
The Hitty sisters removed the thick
quilt batting. It will be a
much better quilt without the thick bat.
The quilt frame was put back together.
The sisters along with Pepper are
deciding how to quilt it.
We all came down to offer our opinion .
The sisters said they needed to get
needles and thread before
quilting could begin. We all
brought our favorite thread color to help them.
We were told not to worry they
would get what they needed to do the work.

A found unfinished quilt.

I had been in my attic.
Coming across an unfinished quilt
I brought it downstairs.
I invited two of the Hitty’s and
Pepper over to look at it.
Pepper is so tiny.
Books had to be stacked
in order for her to climb up and see the quilt.
I watched as they looked the quilt over.
They’re sure looking at it closely.
The Hitty’s think it might be worth quilting.
The quilt top is finished,
it has batting and a backing ready to go.
Just needs quilted.
Pepper had a new dress knit for her that morning.
She wanted us to see it.
Needing help taking off her sweater one of
the Hitty’s went over to assist her.
Hitty went back to looking the quilt over.
Pepper stood on her stack of books
modeling her dress.
We’ll see what happens to the quilt.

Snow and Zoey Grace

ACorn is taking a day off.
Meet Zoey Grace.
She is wearing her purple coat so she can go out and enjoy today’s snow.
Only Zoey could like this kind of weather.
Snows getting deeper.
Catching snow in your hand without mittens can make one very cold.
It wasn’t but a few minutes later that Zoey decided she had enough of snow play.

She returned to the house. Changed into her warm wool dress .
Her plans are to spend the rest of the day reading  .
Maybe she’ll come out again later with mittens and a hat.
